September 21 – When Courage Comes

John 20:19-31; 2 Chronicles 32; Psalm 88 Don’t you hate it when the best stories are apocryphal? We love the stories. We repeat them as great examples, only to find out that they may not be true. For example, according … Continue reading

December 2 – Greater than Jonah…

Psalm 90; Isaiah 1:24-31; Luke 11:29-32 Perhaps the greatest sign of the apocalypse will be normalcy. It’s interesting to hear people react to some of the things that Jesus said. One of my favorites is when they talk about the … Continue reading

July 29 – God’s Horrible Mercy

“So he prayed to the Lord, and said, ‘Ah, Lord, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. Therefore now, O Lord, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!'” (Jonah 4:2-3) God has this “horrible” sense of mercy that causes him to seek ways to bring all people back to Him.
