Looking Toward Next Year

I’ve thought and prayed about devotionals for 2019 and I’m really convicted that I need to do something different. I kept running late with my devotionals this last year. So, I began thinking and praying about doing devotionals meant to recap the day and look forward to the next one. As a result, I’ll be writing devotionals that I’ll post between 6:00 and 10:00 my time (Central Time zone – like Chicago.) I will post them based on the biblical concept of a day. (e.g. Psalm 55:17) So, the devotional for January 1 will post on December 31 after 6:00 PM and so on.

I tried a different Bible reading plan this year. I wasn’t very happy with it. If you have suggestions for next year, please let me know. I have an idea on where I’ll go to set one up, but please let me know if you have a better one. I’ll also be changing versions. The New Century Version, which I used this year, is ok, but it has a lot of weaknesses in my opinion. I haven’t used the New King James version yet, so I’m planning on using that version next year.

I’ve needed this break from writing, but I’m looking forward to writing in this new way. And, if you’re looking for morning devotions, I’ve published some of the devotionals I did in the past in my Sunrise series. This is the cover for the paperback. (eBooks don’t have the back cover.) If you click on the picture, you’ll be able to get to the book which is on sale now: $0.99 for the eBook and $4.99 for the paperback version until January 5. If you buy the paperback, you can download the eBook at no extra charge.

Thanks, Bob. I really appreciate your sharing the Word with us, regardless of version or format. I also enjoy your sense of humor. The older I grow, the more I enjoy reading pieces that make me smile. May you and Lucy and family have a wonderful and blessed 2019! Susan

Thanks for the kind words, Susan! I’m looking forward to the new style, even though I only have a vague idea what it will look like now. God has an amazing way of guiding us, though.
