Luke 20:27-47; Genesis 37; Psalm 28
As I struggle through life, I find that God is constantly guiding me and protecting me – usually from myself. Even in difficult times, I tend to sing and rejoice and I believe that I do that because I know that God is with me. “The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts him. I was helped, my heart rejoiced, and I thank him with my song.” (Psalm 28:7) David made it clear that in his life, he gained strength from God as well as protection. Sometimes that strength grows because we have God’s protection and don’t have to deal with issues we can’t handle. Sometimes it grows because we face issues we couldn’t have before and God gives us the power to overcome. Whatever may happen, we can trust God each and every day. Then comes the best part: thanksgiving. How often do we seek God’s help and then forget to thank Him? So many people today speak of an upcoming generation that lacks gratitude for simple things. Let’s not fall into that trap. When we recognize God’s help, we should rejoice and thank Him – sharing that thanks with others. Let today be a day of praise and thanksgiving in my life as I celebrate all the ways God really has been my strength and shield.
Lord, thank You. Each day You reveal Your greatness. Each day, You protect and guide me. Each day, You provide for my every need. Let me sing of Your goodness today as I show others about Your love.
