Ok, this is really yesterday’s action step. I got behind and had to rush to work. And then didn’t get home until it was really too late for me to think. So, I apologize.
The main action step for yesterday will be a major commitment. There are many organizations that allow you to adopt a child in various countries and make sure that they get an education, they eat and get proper clothing. We have adopted a child in Rwanda through Africa New Life Ministries. I want to encourage you to make a commitment to support a child through one of these types of organizations. Of course, do the diligence to check and make sure that the organization is reputable. Most are. Africa New Life is, in my opinion. We get a joy out of seeing the young lady we sponsor grow and change as she deals with life. Most organizations have a sponsorship fee of less than $40 a month.
Obviously, that’s a major commitment. What if you’re not ready to make that kind of commitment or are unable to do so? There are some simple things that you can do right where you are. Find a local family that needs some support – maybe with a kid who needs school supplies. When you go shopping, buy a little extra to support your local food bank or a food pantry at your church. If you look around, you can find a way to help someone near you who needs your help.
